A sculptor from West Bengal has made a Madame Tussauds-like wax statue of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Susanta Ray, the sculptor, made the statue as a tribute to the actor who died in June.
Ray, who admired Sushant, made the statue for display at his museum in Asansol, West Bengal.
“I liked him (Rajput) a lot. It is unfortunate that he passed away. In his memory, I have made this statue for my museum. However, if Sushant’s family requests for his statue, I will make a new one.”
“Big day for us…Today we are inaugurating wax statue of #Sushant_Singh_Rajput in our Museum at Asansol,” Ray posted on his page while sharing images of the unveiling ceremony.
Sushant’s statue stands next to a chair as one hand rests on the chair. Visitors can sit on the chair to get photos clicked with the statue.
Photos of Sushant’s wax statue are doing rounds on social media. Netizens were delighted to see the artist’s tribute to the actor.
One user said, “Great work Sir. So close to reality.” Another wrote, “This is really Awesome.” Yet another added, “Awesome beautiful sir.. Many many thanks for giving such a great gift.. Sushant Singh Rajput once again became alive among us with your hand.”
Ray has made wax statues of other famous personalities such as actor Amitabh Bachchan and captain of Indian cricket team Virat Kohli. The statues have been displayed at his museum.
