Schools up to class 8 in Lucknow and Mau districts remain closed due to cold and dense fog

Normal life has been affected due to cold and dense fog in many districts of Uttar Pradesh. Due to rain on Wednesday, minimum temperature has dropped by one to two degrees in many districts of Uttar Pradesh including Lucknow, Kanpur, Jhansi, Pratapgarh, Hamirpur etc.

All government and non-government schools up to class 8 in Lucknow and Mau districts will remain closed in the State till January 6th. In these districts, schools from 9th to 12th will run from 10 am to 3 pm. In Sambhal district too, schools up to class 8th will remain closed till January 7th while in Hapur schools will be closed till 8th class till 14th January.

Due to coldwave, District Magistrate Lucknow, has abolished the requirement of school uniforms for children. According to Mohammad Danish, scientist at Lucknow-based Zonal Meteorological Center has stated that there is a possibility of rain in Bundelkhand and neighboring districts of Madhya Pradesh today. Meteorological Department has predicted cold wave conditions along with fog in the entire state of Uttar Pradesh today.
