President Murmu, PM Modi express grief over Tirupati stampede

President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have expressed grief over the loss of lives during the stampede at Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. In a social media post, the President extended her condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.

The Prime Minister said, his thoughts are with those who have lost their near and dear ones. Mr Modi also prayed speedy recovery of the injured. He added that the State Government is providing all possible assistance to those affected.

At least six people lost their lives and several others were injured after a stampede broke out in Tirupati town during the distribution of tokens Vaikunta Ekadasi Darshanam yesterday.
