Power transition won’t be smooth if Trump loses in 2020 elections, says Cohen

Michael Cohen, former attorney to US president Donald Trump, has said that if Trump loses the Presidetial elections in 2020, the transfer of power to the new President will never be smooth.

Cohen was speaking before the House Committee on Oversight and Reform. He explained his opinion basing on his experience working for Trump. He told the House Committee that what he felt about the 2020 elections was the main reason for his public testimony before it.

Cohen ended his public testimony saying that his loyalty to Trump cost him his family’s happiness, law licence, company, livelihood, honour and reputation, and in a couple of monnths, his freedom as well.

Cohen is due to start his three-year imprisonment term on 6 May 2019, after he was proved guilty of campaign finance crimes related to “illegal” hush money paid to porn actress Stormy Daniels on Trump’s behest.

Elijah Cummings, chairman of the House Oversight, referred to Cohen’s testimony and told reporters that the incumbent president had apparently committed a crime while in office.
