PM Modi expresses grief over loss of lives in mining accident in China’s Shanxi Province

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the loss of lives in a mining accident in Shanxi Province in China.

In a social media post yesterday, the Prime Minister extended his condolences to President Xi Jinping and the people of China on behalf of the people of India.

He also prayed for the early and safe recovery of all remaining missing persons and hoped that the bereaved families would find strength in this tragic hour.

Chinese Ambassador to India, Xu Feihong, expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for sending a condolence message following the mining accident in Shanxi province of China.

In a post on social media platform X, the Chinese Ambassador thanked India for its support and sympathy and said that rescue and relief operations are currently underway at the accident site.

The incident has so far claimed 82 lives, while 9 people are still missing.
