Paris Olympics: Reetika Hooda Loses In Women’s 76kg Wrestling Quarterfinals

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Indian grappler Reetika Hooda lost to top-seeded Medet Kyzy Aiperi of Kyrgyzstan in the Women’s 76kg Freestyle event in golf, Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar, who did not have the best of outings on Friday, will feature in the final round of the women’s event on Saturday. Aditi dropped 26 places in the third round to be placed T40, while Diksha slipped further down the order to tie for 42nd. So far, India has won 6 medals, including one silver and 5 bronze medals. The fifth bronze came yesterday when wrestler Aman Sehrawat produced a dominating performance to clinch a bronze medal in the Men’s 57kg Freestyle event. Sehrawat defeated Puerto Rico’s Darian Cruz 13-5. This was India’s first medal in wrestling and the sixth medal overall.
