New Delhi [India], Oct 15 : Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office Dr Jitendra Singh has asserted that Northeast tourism has reached a new height in the last four years and this has only been possible because of special thrust given by the central government.

The Cabinet Minister’s comments came while interacting with the members of a young Start-Up group in New Delhi, after launching the Northeast Tourism app. Praising the Centre for their initiatives, Singh said that because of fast-track progress in providing connectivity to the distant areas in the region, tourists from far and wide look forward to Northeast as a favourite holiday destination.

He further said that Home Tourism has also increased, resulting in new avenues of livelihood for the local people, including the youth.
