Noida International Airport, which is currently under construction, will reportedly have many upscale facilities. These include a shopping mall, 220-room luxury hotel with world-class facilities and availability of various forms of transportation, including a metro line.
An area of about 60 acres has been designated for commercial development and the hotel and the mall will also be constructed on this land. ‘Roseate Hotels and Resorts’ has been selected as the developer for the airport, who got the contract in a competitive bidding process. This hotel will feature new intelligent technology like smartphone access and services especially designed to cater to the modern demands and requirements of global leisure and business travellers.
According to media reports, work is underway to construct the runway and control tower, while the planned inaugural flight is set for September 2024. The UP government, Noida Authority, Greater Noida Authority and the Yamuna Expressway Authority are working together to build the airport, which is being developed next to the Yamuna Expressway.
India is taking assistance from Switzerland to build this world-class airport in Noida. Yamuna International Private Limited, a fully owned company of Zurich airport, is building the facility. India’s ambassador to Switzerland has remarked that this would be the second airport to be developed by the company will develop. Before this project, they had developed the Bengaluru airport.
