Shiv Sena chief Sanjay Raut on Sunday said that there was no politics involved in his meeting with Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly Devendra Fadnavis.
“I met Devendra Fadnavis yesterday to discuss certain issues. He is a former CM. Also, he’s the leader of Opposition in Maharashtra polls and in-charge of the BJP for Bihar polls. There can be ideological differences but we are not enemies,” Raut said.
Later clarifying the reason for the meeting, Fadnavis said that Raut wanted to interview him for Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece Saamana. “The meeting was held to discuss the same as I had put certain conditions. I wanted it to be published unedited.”
He confirmed that it was not a political meeting.
Last November last year, Shiv Sena withdrew from NDA which ultimately led to party leader Uddhav Thackeray becoming Maharashtra Chief Minister through support from Congress, and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
