Monsoon is expected to advance further during the next 24 hours after the weakening of Cyclone Vayu. Monsoon made an onset over Kerala on 8th of June, nearly a week after its usual onset date.
Senior scientist in India Meteorological Department K Sathi Devi said, cyclone Vayu is expected to weaken during the next 24 hours and this will pave the way for monsoon winds to move up towards the Arabian Sea.
