The Ministry of Environment and forest is working on a Smart Campus Scheme under which students would be involved in making the campus green and clean. Speaking to media persons after attending an event ay Malviya National Institute of Technology in Jaipur on Saturday, Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Prakash Javadekar said that under the scheme, recycled water will be used, which will help to preserve precious water.
He said this scheme will help in creating awareness among students about the environment and water conservation. Mr. Javadekar said that their contribution towards environment conservation will be recorded in their performance. He said on the same lines, a School Nursery Scheme will be introduced in schools, with active participation of school going children. He appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of HRD for making campuses clean, and assured that the Ministry of Environment will work hand in hand to ensure Swachch campuses in the country.
