Maharashtra Cabinet today gave its approval to invite fresh tenders for the redevelopment of Dharavi, the largest sprawling slum in Mumbai. The state cabinet has also approved the implementation of the project by giving additional concessions to the project.
In some of the other major decisions, the state cabinet also decided to fill up all the vacant posts of class 3 clerks in the state through Maharashtra Public Service Commission and to increase casual leaves from 12 to 20, from a police constable to the inspector.
The state cabinet has decided to establish the State Property Reconstruction Company, which is expected to protect the public interest in the government’s land, share capital, loans, and loan guarantees.
The cabinet has also decided to set up a cabinet sub-committee to discuss and decide on various disaster relief issues. It has also decided to start various certificate courses at the Bharat Ratna Lata Dinanath Mangeshkar International Music College.
