Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal has said that Indian industry has to align with global standards to speed up the vision of Make in India.
He said, quality of the final product can not be compromised as it is the deciding factor of industry’s competitiveness.
The Minister was speaking at a forum on Public Procurement for Make in India in New Delhi today.
Addressing the participants in the forum, Mr Goyal urged them to register their grievances with Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade so that solutions can be planned accordingly.
He also urged industry players to share feedback as they occupy centre-stage when public procurement for make in India is made.
The Minister appealed entrepreneurs and industrialists to study all the clauses mentioned in make in India scheme.
Mr Goyal also added that any country which does not allow equal, reciprocal access to our products and services in their country, government will not allow them to participate in governmental contracts in India.
More than 200 industry players and government officials are participating in day-long event organized by DPIIT and FICCI to streamline the process of public procurement for make in India.
