Heavy to very heavy rainfall has been predicted for at least 6 districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours. Accordingly, the Regional Meteorological Centre has issued Orange for these districts. Similarly, Yellow warning indicating heavy rainfall has also been issued for another six districts for today.
AIR correspondent reports that the well-marked Low Pressure Area over West Central Bay of Bengal has brought in extensive rainfall to the state during the last 24 hours. But, with the possibility of a depression looming large, intensive rainfall is expected today in districts like Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsingpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak and Baleswar.
As per the forecast, the impact of the weather event over the Bay of Bengal may also trigger heavy rainfall today in districts like Gajapati, Khordha, Cuttack, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj and Dhenkanal. Meanwhile, because of the squally weather and windy conditions along and off the Orissa cost, fishermen have been advised against any adventure into the sea, till the next Saturday.
