After Uttar Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, the world’s first Nano Urea in liquid form was dispatched to Karnataka yesterday. Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers D V Sadananda Gowda virtually flagged off a consignment of 16,600 Nano Urea bottles of 500 ML each from IFFCO plant of Kalol in Gujarat.
Speaking to media persons later in Bengaluru, the minister informed that 500 ML Nano Urea is equivalent to 45 kgs ordinary urea and costs just 240 rupees. He said IFFCO will manufacture 28 crore 500 ML bottles of Nano Urea this year. The minister said that suitable land will be provided to IFFCO near Bengaluru International Airport to set up a Nano Urea manufacturing plant.
Nano Urea developed within the country is said to improve soil health and crop productivity and also reduce the input cost of the farmers.
