Fulfil duty of a citizen by supporting two-child policy before you claim rights on resources

When, Chief Justice of India, Sharad Arvind Bobde, underlined, “Citizenship isn’t just about rights, but also about duties,” he had lamented that some educational institutes have become ‘extremely commercially-minded. However, this applies on every citizen of India.

When Mohan Bhagwat suggests two children policy, he emphasises a citizen’s duty that “raising more children than two” exhausts more resources of country. An adult increases productivity only after consuming resources. Government, resources and the earth have to bear the pressure till a child turns into an adult to create opportunity for others.

When Asaduddin Owaisi attacks Mohan Bhagwat over two children policy, by implying more than two offsprings, he wants to claim only rights. He wants to enjoy facilities and opportunity by growing population. In order to consume resources, service and benefits he has turned oblivion to the fact what if nation has to face population explosion?

Population in our country has crossed the optimum level and it has become a liability on us. Higher birth rate means large number of dependents in total population.

India is the sixth largest economy in the world at present, nevertheless its Human Development Index (HDI) ranks 130 in Global Index. The three indicators of HDI are: Long and healthy life, Education and standard of living. More depressing scenario is India’s per capita income ranks at 157 in GDP per capita list in the world.

One can imagine how population growth has adversely affected our lives, how it has proved to be a big obstacle in the success of economic planning and development, even if India is 6th largest economy in the world.

A citizen fulfils his duty if he or she vows to have only two children. Government must bring two children policy to protect the country from population explosion, before it is too late as Chief Justice Of India rightly said, Citizenship isn’t just about rights, but also about duties,”
