Fastag will be mandatory from tonight, it will be beneficial

The central government has made FASTag mandatory to make toll collection at toll plazas easy and safe, as well as to get rid of long traffic jams. From today i.e. 15 February 2021 midnight Fastag will become mandatory for all.

A notification has also been issued by the government regarding this. Actually, Fastag is a radio frequency identification tag (RFID). This tag is placed on the windscreen of the vehicle which is attached to the driver’s bank account or wallet.

Whenever the train crosses the toll plaza through Fastag, the money is paid from the Fastag account through a scanner. You do not have to pay toll tax on the plaza by stopping or in cash.

Cashless transaction will increase, will not have to wait at toll plaza

After the FASTAG starts, cashless transactions from the system will increase significantly. Along with this, it will also increase the toll collection. Union Road Transport and Highway Minister Nitin Gadkari said in December that the toll collection could reach Rs 34,000 crore by March.

The use of GPS technology for toll collection will bring toll earnings to 1.34 lakh crore in the next 5 years.

With this, passing through tolls often leads to other people having to wait due to lack of open money, which usually leads to a fight. Now common people will not have to face this problem either. With the help of Fastag, the toll plaza can be passed very quickly, so the problem of waiting will also be solved and petrol and diesel will also be saved. The money lying in the Fastag wallet can be used for 5 years.

There will be reduction in road accidents

According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) 2019 report, 4,37,000 road accidents occurred in 2019, with the death toll being 1,54,732. 30 percent of these accidents are those that have taken place on national highways.

Road accidents are also common due to fog or high speed. Through this app, data of drivers will be saved. With which they will get information about every activity. The mobile number of the driver, the number of the vehicle will be present in the control room through the app and similarly Fastag will reduce road accidents.
