External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar today said that the era of uninterrupted dialogue with Pakistan is over, underscoring that actions have consequences. Dr. Jaishankar stated this during a book launch in New Delhi. He said that India is not passive with regard to dealing with Pakistan, and New Delhi will react whether events take a positive or a negative direction. He added that Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir is done.

Talking about Bangladesh, the minister said that India will deal with the government of the day in the neighbouring country, and it has to look for mutuality of interest amidst the political changes there. On India’s relationship with Maldives, he said there have been ups and downs in India’s approach to the Maldives.

Referring to India’s relations with Afghanistan, Dr. Jaishankar said people-to-people relations are strong on a societal level, and after reviewing India’s Afgan policy, New Delhi is clear about its interest.
