Dynamic, impact-based cyclone warning system to be launched soon: IMD

Director General of India Meteorological Department, Dr.Mrutyunjay Mohapatra has said that the IMD will soon launch a dynamic, impact-based cyclone warning system. He said, this system will minimize economic losses and damage to property due to the cyclones.
 
He was speaking on ‘Chasing the Cyclones’, organised as part of World Space Week celebrations by the Indian Society of Remote Sensing. Dr. Mohapatra pointed out that the damage caused to infrastructure due to cyclones is increasing at the world level.
