Low pressure formed over South Andaman Sea and southeast Bay of Bengal :IMD

A low pressure area has formed over South Andaman Sea and adjoining South East Bay of Bengal and equatorial Indian Ocean. It is likely to intensify into depression in the next 24 hours.

Director, IMD, Amaravathi, S. Stella told that it is likely to move westwards and reach Tamilnadu and Puducherry coasts on Wednesday. Stella also said that today and tomorrow north easterlies winds lie over Andhra Pradesh and light rain is likely to occur in one or two places both in South Coastal AP and Rayalaseema.

Several Districts of Andhra Pradesh have been experiencing normal to heavy rainfall for the past three days. Chief Minister YS Jangan Mohan Reddy conducted an aerial survey of the Cyclone Nivar affected areas yesterday. The Chief Minister has already instructed the officials to focus on restoration of power supply and repairs of damaged roads on war footing.
