As we are aware that COVID struck India in late January. Since then, Modi Govt has been quite proactive on the same and has controlled the spread very well considering the size and population of India. Uttar Pradesh has done exceptionally well towards the same cause as compared to most states. The state is home to more than 23 crore peoples.
For starters, the role of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is noteworthy. Under his leadership, the discipline he had brought in during this pandemic is commendable.
The administrative experience of Chief Minister Yogi of the Gorakhnath Math in Gorakhpur and how before becoming a CM he managed activities has been his strength CM Yogi is a disciplinarian and a no nonsense person He expects same discipline from his peers and administrators and also looks into the minute details
For those who had any doubts on COVID numbers from UP were forgetting that Yogi Govt managed the best Maha Kumbh ever in 2019 where cleanliness, transportation, security etc was all looked after very well.
Now getting back to COVID situation in UP the Yogi Govt came into action since very beginning. It had ordered setting up of Control Rooms in all districts well two months ago and was seen taking the DM Gautam Buddh Nagar to cleaners for his mismanagement
For CM Yogi work is worship. He has centralised committees (Task Force) with real time updates Yogi Govt activeness could be seen that he took the matter of hiding Tablighi Jamat people very seriously & gave them warnings. Even he invoked Essential Services Act & NSA against those who choose violence against the COVID Warriors.
Time to time guidelines during the Lockdown to distribution and home delivery of Essentials in every district was looked directly under his Office All DMs were issued specific orders to maintain Law and Order
Yogi Govt was the first State Govt in India to set up Nodal Officers for all states to address the issues of migrant workers. Not only did they take care of food and shelter but also provided them employment under the MNREGA Yogi Govt brought back children studying in Kota Rajasthan too before any other State Govt
Detractors would say that still there are many short comings and Yogi Govt has failed in handling COVID. They are forgetting that UP has maximum number of large Quarantine Centres in different parts of the State where all facilities are being provided
Moreover, CM Yogi set an example when he decided not to attend the last journey of his father. The News of his father expiring was broken to him in midst of a meeting but as a disciplinary he finished the meeting after discussion of all important agendas.
To conclude the management of COVID SITUATION in UP should be used as a case study by leading Universities imparting administrative Education. UP under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is safe, secured and progressive.
