“The BSF soldier who died in the line of duty for the great nation stays in a rented house. The soldier’s wife works in a private school does not have any financial security.”
The family of the soldier Late Gopal of the Maldare Gram Panchayat, in Kodagu, in Karnataka, who died in the line of duty, has been living in hardship without any privileges from the government. Nobody is paying attention to this family’s pathetic condition.
After her husband’s death, Manjula lives in a rented home with her two children at Astana in the Maldare Gram Panchayat range. Soldier Gopal died on March 23, 2006, in duty at the 3rd Battalion of the Indian Army’s BSF. If a warrior dies on duty, some facilities are given by the government. But Gopal’s wife Manjula only got the amount of 3 lakhs from PF and the pension. Except PF she has not got any other benefits.
Central and State governments did not provide any benefits to the wife of the deceased, Manjula, who became a widow at a young age. When she met Chief Minister Kumaraswamy with her two children, she was not given any assistance saying that her husband was working under the central Government. Manjula is crying out that she is helpless.
Financial instability: Manjula is working as a teacher at a private school. Her two children Dilan and Dyan are going to Private School. Manjula is struggling to deal with other expenses, including two children’s education, home rent and family welfare.
She is seeking Government for a Job for their financially backward status and hoping to have better life to live in society.
She is educated and does not want any ‘A’ grade government job. She is committed to helping the family and ready to manage the attendant position in any office. None of the elected minister’s wants help the family. And she proudly says that she is very much in desire to make her Son join Indian Army and serve the country.
“I’m struggling to educate the children, I must be provided the eligible government privileges, my husband has died for motherland, and I need help to live in the society: TS Manjula, wife of the warrior.”
