BJP announces candidates for upcoming Assembly by-elections 2026 in various states

BJP today announced its candidates for the upcoming Assembly by-elections 2026 in various states. According to the party, Ritesh Ravi Naik has been fielded from the Ponda Assembly seat in Goa. In Nagaland, Daochier I. Imchen will contest from the Koridang assembly (ST) constituency. In Karnataka, the party has fielded Veerabhadrayya Charantimath from Bagalkot assembly seat while Srinivas T. Dasakariyappa has been fielded from Davanagere South assembly constituency.

In Tripura, Jahar Chakraborti has been named as the party’s candidate for the Dharmanagar Assembly constituency. The decision was taken at a meeting of the party’s Central Election Committee held yesterday under the chairmanship of BJP President Nitin Nabin. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, and other members of the committee.
