BJP accuses AAP, Congress of backing Ankit Sharma murder convicts

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress of backing those convicted in killing of IB officer Ankit Sharma during northeast Delhi riots in 2020. Addressing the media in New Delhi, BJP National Spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia welcomed yesterday’s Delhi court verdict convicting AAP former councillor Tahir Hussain and four other people in the killing of an IB officer. Mr Bhatia accused AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal of defending Hussain for vote-bank politics. He further alleged that Mr. Kejriwal instigated and sponsored the Delhi riots during his tenure as Chief Minister. Mr Bhatia also alleged Senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and Mr Kejriwal of engaging in dirty and low-level politics by backing those accused.
