ASTRO PART III (Palmistry) Reading Finelines and Inbetween Lines

Hand shape is often presumed to represent the domain of the palmist. However, the truth is that our hand shape represents a clue about our genes.Ref1
Fingerprinting was a revolutionary advance on previous, unwieldy identification methods, one of which – the Bertillon system – involved measuring suspects’ fingers, feet and skulls with callipers. “It’s absolutely core to police business – and it’ll be some years before it dies a death,” said Bruce Grant, head of Scotland Yard’s Fingerprint Bureau, which last year solved 10 000 cases from marks left at crime scenes.Ref2
Fingerprints have been gold standards for personal identification in the forensic for more than 100 years. Fingerprints are commonly used tools to understand the individuality of a person and reveal their identityRef3.
I would be discussing the astro science involving palmistry in this Part III of this article. For further information on these subject new readers are requested to go through the previous Part 1 & Part 2 as under:

Everyone knows that “the face can wear a mask,” that a person may be a good actor and put on a certain expression that may deceive even the best judgment. But hands cannot change as the result of a mere effort to please; the character they express is the real nature of the individual—the true character that has been formed by heredity or that has grown up with the person by long years of habit. Ref6
Although though the subject is extremely vast and is practically impossible to explain and discuss with the readers at length, some of the important lines, shapes of hands, fingers, nails, and the general significance of the same is described in this article for reference and is not comprehensive.
Questions to ponder (1) What happens if a person either loses both his/her hands in an accident or he/she has birth defect in which the hands are damaged severely?

The lifeline is the line that runs from the bottom of the wrist and up to just below your index or above the thumb.
According to the chiromancy or palmistry, a lifeline is like an anchor to life. It shows the stability of a person, both psychologically and physically. Likewise, short lifeline meaning does not refer to death or early death. The thing that can be predicted by a lifeline is the vitality and health of a person.
Your lifeline will tell you more about your general wellbeing and your passion for life. This line will also indicate major changes in your life, like moving cities or major physical and emotional events. If your lifeline is long and unbroken, you are a solid, dependable person who people can rely on. The age at which some occasions that happen concerning life, heart & headlines with other influence lines, ascending (good and auspicious from major concerning lines)/descending lines (could mean upsets from the major lines), cross (a cross in Jupiter mount is considered good .

Head Line
The next line identified by palmists is the headline. This line starts at the edge of the palm under the index finger and flows across the palm towards the outside edge. Often, the headline is joined with the lifeline


Sometimes, you even have a higher ability of doing things than those with a long headline. A small part of the person has a short headline which only extends under the middle finger. If you belong to this kind, you are usually slow to respond, hasty, careless, indecisive, and impulsive.
Simply put, your headline (also known as your wisdom line) represents all things mental – your intelligence, intuition, the strength of your will, and Linehan says it can even show how you receive and react to information. There are a few general features to note before you get into the nitty gritty of this line
What: A broken headline indicates stop and start thinking, a glitch, confusion in thought processes. A gap under the pinky (Mercury) finger would indicate a glitch in thinking about communication, trust, or intimacy.

The more joined the Headline is along the Lifeline, as in the example below, the more attached you will be to your mother as well. When it is joined halfway across the Lifeline, then you may be the perfect “mama’s boy” and I am sure most mothers would love that!
A twin/supporting/forked headline indicates mastery or expert on more than one subject. Similarly, a forked heart line Sometimes the line of Head divides into three well cut forks, one going toward Mercury, one toward Mars, and one toward the Moon . This is a splendid marking, showing great diversity of intellect, adaptability, and versatility. In general, if your heart line is deep, clear, curved, unbroken, not mixed, or disorderly and extends to the forefinger or between the forefinger and middle finger, you have a good love life and emotion. If there are two or three forks at the end, it is much better.

Line of stability (also known as your Fate line): Comes up through the center of the hand, starting at the bottom of your palm and running toward your middle finger; indicates how you feel about the life you create
Fate Line (also called The Career Line) The fate line is the line that stretches from the wrist to the middle finger. It reflects one’s fortune and career.
If a break occurs in the fate line from the head line to the heart line, it indicates the person’s fortune will not be good after his 40 years. But, after 55 years his fortune will turn good.
The fate line is also called the Saturn line. In Chinese palmistry, it is believed that the fate line holds the answers to our professional and financial future. It can tell us about the ups and downs we can experience as well as the lucky periods.
A forked fate line originating from Mount of Luna means progression in in profession after marriage.

A fork on marriage line means separation by death or divorce. Strong thick ascending vertical lines in the area above marriage line mean male offspring & thin ascending vertical line means female offspring and can be calibrated with the respective length at which this event happens in the marriage line. An island however small indicates health setbacks for the spouse.

Ring of Solomon a small line forming a semicircle around the base of the finger of Jupiter and usually held by palmists to indicate a love of and possible proficiency in occult studies. As the name suggests, the ideal formation of this “Ring of Solomon” is of an arc or ring shape at the bottom of index finger on the Mount of Jupiter, which indicates intuitive wisdom. But many a times you will also find it in the straight-line formation, which indicates logical approach to wisdom. Some rare, enlightened combination including Ring of Solomon are when you will find Heart line touching the “Ring of Solomon” which indicates person being filled with high ideals & altruism. And if the “Ring of Solomon” is little bit high set on the mount of Jupiter with Heart line in a fork combination making a triangle on it, this would indicate that the person’s spirituality is heightened, person might have the ability to directly contact the spirit.

Saturn. The index finger signifies Jupiter, middle finger Saturn, ring finger sun, little finger mercury. The thumb contains three phalanges, and the associated mount is the mount of Venus. In essence, the thumb is associated with the subject’s desires in life. Contained in the thumb is also the logic and the ability to carry out their desires. People with exceptionally long thumbs live in their heads and can be stubborn, while those with short thumbs are said to be weak-minded. … If the bearer bears very long thumbs, he or she is said to be governed by the head rather than the heart, and to be obstinate and not always wise. People with very long thumbs live in their heads and can be stubborn, while those with short thumbs are said to be weak-minded. The phalange, angle, clubbing has deep inner meaning and is rather exhaustive to cover in this article. Fingers need to be long with clear nails and without colour.

The Mount of Jupiter is symbolic of willpower, authority, ambition, and self-respect. If you find it is well developed and prominent, it shows you are ambitious, career-minded, responsible, honest, and reliable. Besides, you love reputation and are very possessive towards love and money. As you are of great enterprise, you usually could get achievement in your career. Suitable jobs for you include being an army and civil servant. 
 
If the mount of Jupiter is under-developed or less prominent, it indicates you are clumsy, vulgar, timid, dishonest, and having no morals. Also, you don’t love fame. 
 
An overly developed and prominent mount of Jupiter indicates you are over ambitious, peacockish and easy to be pretentious. On the contrary, if it is too low, you usually have no confidence in life and no desire to make progress.

The Mount of Saturn is related to integrity and perspective on things.
 
If you have a prominent and developed mount of Saturn, then you are usually highly intelligent, sincerely, independent and patient. Besides, you love to study and are good at organization and mathematical calculation.  If it is low, you are easy to be sad, depressed, lonely and scrupulous. Besides, you are superstitious and have a strong religious view. In addition, you can keep the secret for others.   
 
If it is too high, it indicates you like to show off at the same time you are a bit gauche and too cautious when dealing with affairs. 
 
If it is too large, you are sentimental and easy to be a pessimist. 
 

The Mount of Apollo (Sun Mount)
The Mount of Apollo is mainly related to emotion, interest, wealth and outlook on beauty. 
 If it is well developed, you are usually clever, mild and have an instinct for art and literature. You do not have to be a painter, artist or dramatist but you are very particular about clothes and like the house and office to be decorated elegantly and artistically. Besides, you are compassionate and willing to help others even he/she is a stranger. At the same time, you are not willing to accept other’s favour or present unless they promise to receive your present in return. When dealing with things, you never do things by halves and aims to be perfect in every aspect. In wealth, the male is easy to make money in business and the female usually have a high possibility of marrying a rich man. 
If this mount is flat or low, it indicates you do not love arts and have a poor aesthetic taste. In life, you are inclined to pursue the luxurious material life but your fortune in wealth is usually not so good.  

The Mount of Mercury
The Mount of Mercury represents wisdom and the ability to think. 
 With a developed mount of Mercury, you usually are quick-witted and full of resource in any emergency. Besides, you are good at study and management.
 If the mount is very much developed and prominent, you tend to be all talk and no deed. Also, you are easy to make an indiscreet remark.
 
If this mount is too low, it indicates you are a negative person without will. You usually are not willing to put in a lot of hard work when doing things.

The Mount of Luna (Mount of Moon)
The Mount of Luna also called the Mount of Moon is related to imagination, intuition, and mystery.
 If the mount is developed and prominent, it represents you are very intuitive and imaginative. In personality, you are mild and love freedom and to dream. 
 You are changeable and easy to get sentimental or depressed if your mount appears overly developed.
 If the mount is low, it indicates you are conservative and lack fresh ideas and innovation.

Mount of Inner Mars (Mount of Lower Mars/Mars Positive)
The Mount of Inner Mars also called the Lower Mars, or the Mars Positive is related to courage and adventure. 
 
If this mount is well developed and prominent, it indicates you are very courageous ,healthy and adventurous. Many famous soldiers and generals usually have this kind of mount. If the mount appears overly developed, then one tends to be aggressive. If it is low, it indicates you are timid and indecisive. You usually hesitate to do things and have no heart in anything. Therefore, you have few chances to get success as you do not dare to grasp the chances although they come. 

Mount of Outer Mars (Mount of Upper Mars/Mars Negative)
The Mount of Outer Mars also called the Upper Mars, or the Mars Negative mainly represents self-control and endurance.
 
If you have a strong Outer Mars on your hand, then you are steady, persevering, and fearless of danger. Also, you could endure the humiliation in life. The wealth fortune for you is usually stable without big rises and falls as you do not like to take a risk in money making. 
 
If the Outer Mars appears overly developed, then you lack courage. You usually endure those things that you should not endure. 
 
If it is flat or too low, it indicates you are impetuous and lack of endurance. You could not keep clam and tactfully solve the problems when meeting difficulties.
Mount of Plain Mars
Plain of Mars It is common to see that the Plain of Mars is low. It never gets too high. If it is wide and flat without crosses in it, it’s regarded to be a good sign to you. If it is too low and the other

mounts are low as well, it is not a good sign. You are easy to be deficient in energy and spend a hard life.
The Mount of Venus is mainly related to love, health, and affection. developed and prominent mount of Venus shows you are sympathetic, gentle, and rich in sentiment. Most of you are easy to be attracted by the opposite sex and could enjoy a good fortune in love relationship. An overly developed mount of Venus indicates you are energetic and sexy. Most people know about the Heart Line in Palmistry, which represents your approach to love and commitment. Some people even have a second Heart Line, which floats above the first. This is called a Girdle of Venus (see photo).The Girdle of Venus may be complete (as in the picture) or, more often, composed of broken or overlapping lines. This marking has a negative reputation in Palmistry, which I’d love to overturn in this blog.
In traditional Palmistry, the Girdle of Venus is associated with insecurity in love and inner restlessness. In modern Palmistry, The Girdle of Venus can be considered a powerful sign of psychic, creative and emotional sensitivity.
Pros/ Advantages of a Girdle of Venus
-You feel life deeply, and can be a gifted spiritual teacher, healer, writer, artist of actor. It would be easy for you to become religious at some stage in life. Many people with this marking are performers, who find it hard to express their feelings until they have the support of an audience. What a gift to everyone…they’re Spiritual Messengers and often , reminding us it’s ok to be human.-Everything is alive for you, trees, nature, even inanimate objects.-It’s easy for you to empathise with people or animals in pain, which makes you more likely to become involved in charitable causes.-You don’t need much criticism to change, you already have an active conscience and know what’s right and wrong.-As you have chosen a lifelong journey of heart healing, you’ll meet and influence many people along the way, e.g. through attending therapy, groups, classes and teaching other sensitives how to handle everyday life. You’ll never be short of friends for this reason.-You’re likely to look into spirituality and religion to find the true Source of unconditional love in the Universe. Remember, G.O.D simply stands for Good Orderly Direction (see The Artist’s Way).-You know when people are flirting with you and can be charismatic in social situations.-By the end of your life you will have (hopefully) learned how to forgive others, including yourself, to find your innocence again.Cons/ Disadvantages of a Girdle of Venus
-You may have suffered trauma (usually as a child or before age 15) which led to you losing trust in the people around you. This marking is associated with past difficulties such as early exposure to conflict and stress.
A gifted palm reader can pinpoint the age/s at which your Girdle of Venus formed. I have done this before, having learned the skill from Paul Fenton-Smith. It is worth noting that you can have a Girdle of Venus in one hand but not the other (check if it’s the Active or Passive hand – the Active is your writing hand/ current energies). This indicates if you experienced the trauma in a past life/ childhood (Passive hand only) or as an adult (Active hand only).

In Palmistry, the line of health is associated with the health of a person – it is an indicator specially of the state of your digestive apparatus, the operation of your liver, and various maladies that can arise from the impairment of important function of these organs. This line is also known as the line of liver, line of Mercury, line of Hepatica, or stomach line. Ideally, this line should not appear at all. Interestingly, there is no fixed place of its source. The health line can be found extending from the mount of mercury (below your little finger) and down across your palm, to the base of the thumb. This line can also be found joining with the lifeline. The health line, lifeline, headline, and heart line are considered as the most important lines that can tell whether we can lead a healthy life. All of these lines should be present on our hand without any breaks, islands, chains, and irregularities. When the health line is deep and free from breaks, this indicates a strong physical constitution and good digestion. The health line, or mercury line usually begins at the line of life and rises toward the Mercury mount, and for those who have this line – not everyone does – he/she may have a problem with gastrointestinal or liver diseases, stomach, and intestinal problems due to repressed emotions, nervousness, or physical factors such as intestinal parasites or poor diet. It may also indicate gynaecological problems in women. It can also indicate kidney problems and problems with your uterus and ovaries, especially when the line is weak and broken.
An absent line of health usually means that health is not an issue. The apparent and firm line of health is the implication of excellent health of a person. The straighter the line, the better the health of the person. Degree of sickness can be indicated by the strength or weakness of this line. A wavy or broken line (pic A) warns you of potential health problems.

Stars on any mount or line is considered a sign of prosperity or well being connected to the respective finger, mount, or line. Similarly, square & triangle in respective places described above signifies preservation or protection and considered mostly auspicious, barring certain exigencies. An island or a black spot anywhere in the palm is a sign of ill luck connected to the line, mount, and finger. A square found on the line means protection (such as good medical treatment or a narrow escape) whereas island on the line means a potential need for hospitalization. If the health line is crossed, it is believed that the person tends to be prone to accidents.

Mystic cross” is a favourable sign for aptitude in occult sciences. The mystic cross is between the headline and the heart line at the palm center. a mark resembling a cross that is sometimes found on the center of the palm between the line of Heart and the line of Head and under the Mount of Saturn and that is usually held by palmists to indicate a great interest in mysticism and occult subjects. Independent Cross in the quadrangle: A cross formed independently in the quadrangle under the mount of Saturn is called “Mystic cross” is a favourable sign for aptitude in occult sciences. Shapes of palm:
Reading the hand types is the simplest method in palmistry. The type of hand indicates one’s basic character and values, as well as the way and attitude of do things. If there is any difference between the analyses result of the type of the hand and other ways of palm reading, the result should be subject to the former.
Square or Metal Hands Belong to Rational People of High Working and Leadership Ability.

Features: square palms, fingers, and nails; white, dewy, fleshy, and elastic palm.Personality: People of metal hands are practical, not affected by vanity, strong-willed and law-abiding. They are capable and talented in leadership, have the sense of fairness and justice, like to protect rather than bully the weak. Once they are helped, they will pay back.  No matter which industry they choose, they need to develop the executive ability and do the performance-oriented work, such as leader, manager, official and legal professional. This type of work requires communication, coordination, and teamwork, and is goal-directed, for which they can handle more easily and better reach their full potential.

Features: Oblong hands with long fingers, well-defined knuckles, and tough thumbs difficult to bend.Personality: People of wood hands are stubborn and independent and prefer getting promoted to being stifled. With no complex of dependency but exclusiveness, they often keep mysterious to others, hate cliquism, get used to the fixed life pattern and can hardly adapt to the changing environment. They know their own mind clearly and are brave to be and express themselves. Meanwhile, they can undertake the due obligations and take care of the weak. Being soft-hearted and sympathetic, they are often touched easily. Besides, they are very curious, usually get to the bottom of things and show their extraordinary talent in religion, art, philosophy, psychology, etc.

Features: Wide, plump and smooth palms with stubby fingers, round fingertips and long nails.Personality: People of water hands are smart and talented fast learners who have keen observation and like to explore the truth behind things. They are clear-minded and boast the unique judgment and analytical ability. Despite the rich imagination, they lack of execution and action and often indulge in empty talk. Also, they can adapt to the surrounding environment in different roles and change the environment no matter how severe it is. No matter which industry they choose, they generally engage in the thinking-oriented brainwork, such as operator thinking about operation strategy, business personnel thinking about sales increase, research personnel thinking about technical breakthrough, marketing personnel thinking about market development, and artist thinking about work creation. This type of work is brain powered and requires logical thinking, strategic analysis and creative imagination.

Personality: People of fire hands are quick thinkers with 3-minute passion. They are emotional and clear about what to love or hate; they are willing to sacrifice for the one they love but do not want to have any contact with the one they hate. As smart fast learners, they are interested in many things and can speak frankly with assurance but lack of perseverance.  Full of talent, wisdom, courage and vigour, fire hands can undertake the task alone and they like to have space and stage to advance bravely rather than the fixed pattern. Their excellent performance often makes others feel they are asocial. For them, the most important thing will be the horizontal development, communication, and coordination.
Earth Hands Belong to Rational and Down-to-Earth People of Executive Capability.

Personality: People of earth hands are willing to sacrifice themselves to protect others. They are resigned to the situation and can accept others, belonging to the wise rather than the smarty. They are easy-going yet a little dull and have many valuable opinions but never declare randomly. Since they do not like to claim credit, their contributions are often ignored. Once they leave the original post, their important role will be realized. With a strong sense of self-protection, they make it hard for others to approach to their inner world. Also, they never give up easily for the things they hold on, thus a little stubborn. Earth hands belong to the people who work silently, hold on straight to the end and never show off but make extraordinary achievements with the accumulation of experience. They prefer to do their own work well to manage others. Although they lack of multi-functional development, they can always devote to their professional field with great efforts and hold on when others give up. With the accumulation of experience, they create the irreplaceable value.

Mixed hand person will be of mixture type of characteristics and behaviour like their hand. The mind of such person will be uncertain, they soon become hopeless, if they do not succeed in doing a particular work, for this reason, they become self-centred. They will be changeable and versatile to such an extent, that they lack definite purpose in their life, and easily get defamed. Many times, mixed hand type people often lack mental disposition for reflection and deep thought. Mixed hand person can have great result out of their life if they utilise their ability in a potential way to the wellbeing of the society and their life. They have all the aspects of good and band, that can be known and learnt by the person to control bad sides and appreciate the good side of their humanity.

Conclusion: The subject of palmistry is huge with several intricacies and cannot be covered on simple precis writing. The permutation combination of type of palm, texture, shape of palm and fingers, mounts, together with several lines, stars, triangle, islands combined with age is a daunting toss to explain as the outcome of predictions will vary drastically and hence what is stated here in this document is just a short outline. Individual cases must be analysed and reviewed.
