The annual rate of inflation based on all India Wholesale Price Index (WPI) is 4.12 percent down for the month of June, 2023. In May, 2023 it was recorded 3.48 percent down. The decline in the rate of inflation in June, 2023 is primarily due to a fall in prices of mineral oils, food products, Basic metals, crude petroleum & natural gas and textiles.
Prices of Food Articles increased by 2.10 percent in June, 2023 as compared to May, 2023. Prices of Non-food Articles are down by 2.40 percent, whereas Crude Petroleum and Natural Gas prices declined 3.01 percent. Minerals prices declined 4.32 percent in June, 2023 as compared to May, 2023.
