In Mizoram, all schools for class 5 to 8, Colleges, Universities and other higher educational institutions have reopened from today. These institutions have been closed for the last 11 months due to the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.
The state government however instructed all college authorities to undertake mandatory thermal screening at the entrance and to strictly follow Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). Health Minister Dr R Lalthangliana also urged authorities of schools, colleges, universities and other institutions to adhere to COVID-19 protocols and guidelines.
The state government has earlier reopened schools for classes 10 and 12 from 22nd January and classes 9 and 11 from 22nd February. Official sources said that the state government has however not allowed to reopen schools for the primary section as the kids of this section need serious care.
