Singapore Open: India to take on Indonesia in the final today

In Badminton, India’s men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will take on the Indonesian duo of Muhammad Shohibul Fikri and Fajar Alfian in the final of the Singapore Open today.

The Indian pair is yet to win a title since clinching the Thailand Open in May 2024.

Satwiksairaj and Chirag defeated the world No. 1 South Korean pair of Seo Seung-jae and Kim Won-ho 21-19, 21-18 in the semi-finals.

The victory was particularly significant as the world No. 4 Indian duo snapped the 34-match winning streak of Kim and Seo. In the other men’s doubles semi-final, the Indonesian pair defeated China’s Liang Wei Keng and Wang Chang in straight games, 23-21, 21-4. Satwiksairaj and Chirag have reached their second consecutive final after finishing runners-up at the Thailand Open two weeks ago. The Singapore Open is a prestigious annual BWF World Tour Super 750 tournament held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
