Rajnath Singh says India stands out as fastest-growing major economy

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today said that India continues to stand out as the world’s fastest-growing major economy at a time when many countries are facing economic uncertainty. Referring to the registered GDP growth rate of 7.7 per cent in the financial year 2025-26, Mr Singh said that the achievement underscores resilience and underlying strength of the Indian economy built over the last 12 years. In a social media post, Mr Singh said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has combined economic growth with stability, confidence, sustainability, and credibility.The Defence Minister added that the unwavering commitment of Mr Modi to nation-building, focus on innovation, infrastructure, and entrepreneurship, and his ability to steer the country through unprecedented global challenges have transformed India into a confident, resilient, and globally respected economic power. He further said that the remarkable growth continues to create new opportunities and strengthen the aspirations of 140 crore Indians.
