PM, Home Minister And Defence Minister Extend Greetings On Occasion Of Hindi Diwas

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today extended greetings to all the countrymen on the occasion of Hindi Diwas. In a social media post, Mr. Modi shared his video highlighting the importance of Hindi Language.

Meanwhile, in a video message, the Home Minister emphasised the significance of this year’s Hindi Diwas, noting that on September 14 in 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India had adopted Hindi as the official language. Mr. Shah mentioned that Hindi Diwas is completing its 75th year, and this milestone is being celebrated as the Diamond Jubilee of Hindi as the official language.

Mr. Shah underscored that all Indian languages are a source of pride and heritage for the country, asserting that progress cannot be achieved without enriching these languages. He affirmed with certainty that there is no competition between Hindi and any regional language, highlighting that Hindi is a friend to all local languages. He said that every language gives strength to Hindi, and Hindi gives strength to every language, whether it is Gujarati, Marathi, or Telugu.

He lauded the efforts made over the past decade under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to bolster Hindi and regional languages, highlighting that PM Modi has promoted the importance of Hindi on numerous international platforms and has fostered greater interest in Indian languages within the country.

He said that the Department of Official Language will launch a portal for translation from Hindi to all the languages of the Eighth Schedule in the coming days. Under this initiative, letters or speeches will be translated into all languages in a very short time using Artificial Intelligence. He further appealed to citizens to unite in strengthening both Hindi and regional languages. The Defence Minister also shared a video message highlighting the need to accept Hindi as an official language nationally as well as globally.
