PM Narendra Modi to visit Lumbini in Nepal today on occasion of Buddha Purnima

On the occasion of Buddha Purnima, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will fly to Lumbini in Nepal from the newly inaugurated Kushinagar International Airport today. Shri Modi is scheduled to reach the Kushinagar Airport around 9.20 AM, from where he will fly to Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautama Buddha.

After attending programmes at Lumbini, the Prime Minister will fly back to Kushinagar by 4 PM, where he is scheduled to visit the Mahaparinirvana Stupa. Shri Modi will spend around 10 minutes in Darshan and pooja at the stupa. He will also offer chivar before the statue of the reclining Buddha. Kushinagar is the place where Gautama Buddha attained Mahaparinirvana. From Kushinagar, the Prime Minister will fly to Lucknow at around 4.45 PM.

In October last year, the Prime Minister visited Kushinagar to inaugurate the International Airport.
