Senior BJP leader and former Chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Kalyan Singh passed away today at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences hospital in Lucknow. He was 89. Former governor of Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh Kalyan Singh was admitted in hospital due to prolonged illness. A wave of sorrow spread all over due to his demise.
President Ram Nath Kovind has expressed grief over the demise of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Kalyan Singh. In a tweet, President said that Kalyan Singh had a magical connect with masses. President said, as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, he determinedly pursued clean politics and purged governance of criminals and corruption. Mr Kovind said, Kalyan Singh dignified the offices he held and his demise leaves a vacuum in public life.
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu has expressed grief over the demise of former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Kalyan Singh. In a tweet, Mr Naidu said that Kalyan Singh was a nationalist and an exemplary leader who was deeply committed to serving people. The Vice President said, his thoughts are with the bereaved family and followers of Kalyan Singh.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the death of former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan Governor, Kalyan Singh. In a series of tweets, Mr Modi said, he spoke to his son Rajveer Singh and expressed condolences. He said, Kalyan Singh was statesman, veteran administrator, grassroots level leader and great human. He leaves behind an indelible contribution towards the development of Uttar Pradesh.

He was firmly rooted in Indian values and took pride in our centuries old traditions. Mr Modi said, Kalyan Singh gave voice to crores of people belonging to the marginalised sections of society. Prime Minister said that Kalyan Singh made numerous efforts towards the empowerment of farmers, youngsters and women.
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath condoled the death of Kalyan Singh and announced three day government mourning in state on his demise. Briefing media at Lucknow, Mr Yogi said that his cremation will be held on Monday at Naraura in Bulandashahar. He also declared Monday as public holiday. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that it is big loss to all of us.
