On the second day of his visit to Darjeeling district in West Bengal and Sikkim today, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to interact with jawans at border posts in Sikkim. Mr Singh will also participate in Shashtra Puja and inaugurate a project of Border Roads Organisation (BRO) in Sikkim.
Defence minister Rajnath Singh reached Sukna Military Camp in Darjeeling District yesterday. He was accompanied by Chief of the Army Staff, General Manoj Mukund Naravane. Besides engagements with the army and BRO, Mr Singh is scheduled to inaugurate a temple in Gangtok. Sikkim chief secretary SC Gupta yesterday chaired a preparatory meeting with administrative officials; officers from the 17th Mountain Division, GREF and BRO; home, health and tourism departments; and Thakurbari Mandir Committee; among others.
