As the monsoon session of Parliament got underway, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said he believed that all the Members of Parliament (MPs) will speak in one voice in support of Indian jawans posted at borders.
Moments after PM Modi’s media brief, Congress MPs Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and K Suresh gave adjournment motion notice in Lok Sabha over the issue of “Chinese incursion in eastern Ladakh”.
Earlier, the government has confirmed that 18 bills and a total of 47 items will be taken up during the session, which will be held over the course of 18 days.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, the timings of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have been shortened to four hours each, and Parliament will function for seven days a week during the monsoon session.
Importantly, the government’s decision to cut down the Zero Hour to half and completely scrap the Question Hour has hugely upset the Opposition.
