Security tightened at Uddhav Thackeray’s residence as Maharashtra CM gets calls ‘on behalf of Dawood Ibrahim’

Security has been tightened at Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray’s residence Matoshree as a precautionary measure on Sunday after calls were received on the landline at Matoshree wherein the caller said he was calling on behalf of wanted gangster Dawood Ibrahim and wanted to speak to the chief minister, police said.

The caller, allegedly from the Dawood gang, threatened to blow up Matoshree. Any particular reason behind these calls has not ascertained.

Security has also been beefed up at Varsha, the official residence of the chief minister, as well. The Mumbai Police said they are trying to locate the caller. State agencies also have been put on a high alert.

Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Anil Parab confirmed that an anonymous call was received at Matoshree where the caller said he was a handmaiden of Dawood Ibrahim and wanted to speak to the chief minister.
