Under centrally sponsored Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, an amount of Rs. 74 crore have been spent in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for strengthening and building up educational edifice.
This was revealed by Commissioner Secretary School Education Department, Sarita Chauhan in Jammu.
The amount was spent during the current financial year on construction of 10 girls hostels, 245 additional classrooms, 11 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidayalyas, 174 boundary walls and 217 toilet complexes under the programme.
