The Uttar Pradesh government will now partner with private IT businesses to fulfill the dual objective of increasing the quality of the education system and making the young employable.
Employment creation for youth in UP
The move aims to provide employment to the youth of Uttar Pradesh by increasing their abilities in line with market demands and opening doors to better job prospects. The Department of Vocational Education and Skill Development has devised a strategy to partner with business entities such as Tata Technologies, HCL Technologies, Tech Mahindra, and IBM (Richa) to examine domestic and global demands in order to tackle the problem of employment after education.
Modernisation of 50 state ITIs
According to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the aim of self-sufficiency in India can only be realised if students are directly trained by companies. In this context, the government would engage with Tata Technology to modernise 50 state ITIs as part of its planned 100-day plan. Training in ITIs will be conducted using cutting-edge technology, and students will be imparted instructions using cutting-edge equipment.
Training to 10,000 young folks
The government will also train young people for jobs in the information technology sector. According to the department’s plan, 10,000 youths would be trained and placed in the IT field with the assistance of organisations such as HCL Technologies, among others. During the on-job training, the youths will also receive an honorarium.
The Yogi government’s focus is also on the health sector, and in response to the sector’s demands, the government will enter into a contract with Tech Mahindra for customised training in new health-care courses. Through this training, the youth will be qualified to contribute to the state’s healthcare while also serving the people in the event of a pandemic-like emergency. A contract will be formed through IBM Richa for training in new marketable trades in the IT industry, which will assist the youth in finding lucrative work opportunities.
