Since COVID-!9 struck India , all eyes have been on UP and the role of its Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in handling it . The discipline with which CM Yogi has managed in controlling the spread of coronavirus in the state , has brought him praise from all round .
From dealing with attendees of Tablighi Jamat to those who chose violence against the corona warriors , his message has been clear that there will be no let up in the law , order and security of the state . Even while dealing with the huge migrant population issue he has been in constant touch with the other state governments and been prompt in taking up help even from the opposition parties in this regard , knowing very well , he may be criticized for his inability in dealing with the situation .
CM Yogi without any hesitation accepted the offer of 1,000 buses to be provided to the state by Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi , only to find that the list of buses provided to them had three wheelers , motor cycles and ambulances shown as buses . He simply caught the bluff being played by the Congress party and also reminded them , that , the migrants were returning back from states like Rajasthan , Delhi , Maharashtra . By doing so he exposed the petty politics which was been played against him by the opposition and silenced his critics too leaving them red faced .
Even on the economic front his government announced a gift basket of loans , easy clearances and a single-window format for MSMEs .
“We will accept this as a challenge and make the state the hub of the MSME sector . This will provide employment to the people at the local level with minimum capital , minimum risk ,” the statement said .Approach of CM Yogi’s government in dealing with coronavirus has been different in comparison with the other states . He is working to convert a full – blown pandemic into an opportunity .
UP government has launched MSME Sathi , an app for single-window clearances for the MSMEs. It has also given Rs 202 crore to 56,754 individuals and units as MSME funds. Although the amount is not huge , but this will create around 2.5 lakh jobs in the state .
Yogi Adityanath is the first amongst the chief ministers to grab business flying out of China . He has already created a task force for the same and is also holding talks with various stakeholders for investment and setup of business facilities in his state . This has not gone too well with China and it has criticized UP government on the formation of an economic task force to attract companies eyeing a shift in manufacturing facilities from China . About 100 foreign companies are said to be in talks with the UP government in this regard . Even project of international airport at Jewar has been fast tracked .
For India to reach $5 trillion economy goal faster it has to pass through UP . PM Narendra Modi’s clarion call for Atamnirbhar Bharat and ‘vocal for local’ have already been set earlier by the Yogi government . UP had started One District One Product (ODOP) with impetus from local , tradition , art and enterprise .Various sectors are being developed under this scheme like Moradabad for brass ware , Aligarh for locks , furniture from Maharajganj , chikan kari from Lucknow , zari zardosi from Saharanpur amongst others .Even huge investments are being brought into each district keeping in mind its pride and tradition .
If CM Yogi Adityanath succeeds in bringing the investments and industry to his state the punishing pandemic could turn into opportunity for the states and scores of migrants who are returning back to their hinter land dejected , dispossessed and jobless . Hoping for a new dawn in the fortunes of the state of UP under Yogi Adityanath .
