United Conservation Movement to hold “No Trees, No Water” campaign in Bengaluru on 23rd

Environmentalists and various environmental groups from all over Karnataka will be congregating in Bengaluru on 23 February 2019 under the aegis of “United Conservation Movement”.

The meet will be held at Freedom Park, Bengaluru on Saturday at 10:30 am. Prominent environmentalists such as Cheppudira Muthanna, Joseph Hoover and others are expected to participate and address the gathering.

Many environmentalists and environmental groups have been campaigning to saving and conserve the forests and rich biodiversity of Karnataka. Since the objectives of these groups have been the same, all these groups have decided to join hands to form the “United Conservation Movement”

This movement vows to stop the destruction of more than 21 lakh trees for unnecessary and ruinous development projects. They are not against development, but they vehemently oppose projects that are destructive to the environment and forests.

They stress the need to save trees because the trees have a major role in conserving water and preventing global warming. If environment destruction continues unabated, the future generations will find it really tough to inhabit the Earth, the environmentalists have warned.
