Union Home Minister Amit Shah said Center is providing all possible help to Uttarakhand

Referring to the glacier bursting incident in Uttarakhand on 7 February, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has assured all possible help. He assured the House that all possible measures for relief and rescue are being done in coordination with the State Government and all possible assistance is being provided by the Central Government. He said that the Home Ministry is monitoring the situation through the control room. He said that according to the information 197 people are missing, including 139 of NTPC’s under construction project, 46 persons from Rishi Ganga and 12 villagers.

24 hour surveillance He said that the situation is being monitored 24 hours a day by the central government. The Prime Minister himself keeps an eye on the situation. He said that a team of SSB has also reached the disaster site. A team of DRDO tracking the avalanche has also reached there. Along with this, a Navy team has been deployed at the scene and 5 Air Force helicopters are also helping in the rescue work.

He said that the debris has been cleaned at the mouth of the tunnel by the army after hard work all night. The Union Minister said that the state government has announced an assistance of four lakh rupees for the families of those who lost their lives.
