UK Court orders extradition of fugitive diamond merchant Nirav Modi to India in PNB Scam case

A UK magistrates’ court ordered the extradition of fugitive Jeweller Nirav Modi, who is wanted in India in the Punjab National Bank scam case. Judge Samuel Goozee said that a prima facie case of fraud and money laundering is established. 

The judge also stated that Nirav Modi had conspired to destroy evidence and has a case to answer for, in India. The order will be sent back to UK Home Secretary Priti Patel for a sign-off. The judge added that Nirav Modi has the right to appeal the order.
