US President Donald Trump has said that he sees India looking at “something very strong” in response to the Pakistani terror attack in Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistani terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) has claimed responsibility for this.
Trump has expressed fears that the situation between India and Pakistan is “very, very bad” and “dangerous”. He hoped that it stops.
He acknowledged that India lost almost 50 people in the terrorist attack and it wants to give a very strong reply.
Trump was addressing reporters at the White House.
He added that everyone is talking about the terrorist attack and the problems between India and Pakistan. He mentioned that he stopped payment of USD 1.3 billion because he was unhappy with the way that country was helping the US in the war on terrorism. Trump added that he stopped payments to Pakistan about 9 months ago.
Trump’s comments assume much significance when the international community is exerting pressure on Pakistan to stop supporting terrorists.
It may be recalled that the US reacted soon after the Pakistani terrorist attack in Pulwama on 14 February, by telling Pakistan to stop sheltering terrorists.
