Dubai – Kozhikode evacuation flight today to carry expats from 9 districts
Malappuram: The Air India Express evacuation flight from Dubai to Kozhikode on Thursday will carry expats from nine Kerala districts. The flight will land at the Karipur International airport at 10.30 pm. The evacuations of Indians stranded abroad was necessitated after global outbreak of coronavirus and the subsequent lockdown.
Out of the 189 people to be on board, 82 are from Malappuram.
District Collector Jafar Malik said that all arrangements ensuring health safety have been arranged at the airport. Those asymptomatic expats from other districts landing here will be taken by respective districts authorities in taxis or KSRTC buses.
There are 23 persons from the district onboard the Abu Dhabi – Kochi Air India Express flight that will arrive at Cochin international Airport at 9.40 pm on Thursday. Arrangements have been made to take them to Malappuram ensuring all safety norms, Malik further said.
Pregnant women whose RTPCR test results were negative for coronavirus and asymptomatic, children below 10 years, elderly persons suffering from old age ailments, specially disabled and those who have emergencies like death of a close relative or any relative in critical conditions will be allowed to go home under strict conditions and will be placed under self-isolation supervised by health department.
It is also instructed that everyone returning should download the Aarogya Setu app.
