T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup: Afghanistan A Win By 20 Runs

In Cricket, India A were defeated by Afghanistan A by 20 runs in the semi-final of the ongoing ACC Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024 at Al Amerat in Oman.

Opting to bat first, Afghanistan posted a mammoth total of 206 runs. Openers Zubaid Akbari and Sediqullah Atal notched up a 137-run partnership. while Karim Janat scored 41 off 20 balls.

Chasing a target of 207 runs, India failed to achieved the score, losing openers Abhishek Sharma and Prabhsimran Singh, as well as captain Tilak Varma, in the powerplay. While Ramandeep Singh scored a blistering 64 on 34 balls, but could not get his team over the mark and fell short in the end.

In the other Semi-final yesterday, Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by seven wickets.

Afghanistan-A will take on Sri Lanka A in the Summit Clash at Al Amarat, tomorrow. The match will start at 7 PM Indian Standard Time.
