Thousands joined the funeral of BJP stalwart and former external affair minister Sushma Swaraj as she began her final journey from BJP headquarters to Lodhi crematorium in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Several top leaders- Rajnath Singh, JP Nadda, Ravi Shankar Prasad and Piyush Goyal were among the pallbearers of the late leader.
Earlier, hundreds of people turned up to pay homage to the former Union minister as her body was brought to the BJP headquarters. BJP workers jostled to have a glimpse of Swaraj one last time as her body was brought in a glass casket from her residence to the party headquarters.
Sushma Swaraj suffered a cardiac arrest on Tuesday night and was admitted to AIIMS Delhi, where she was declared dead.
