Former external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj breathed her last after a cardiac arrest on Tuesday night. Condoling the death of veteran BJP leader, Delhi government has declared a two-day state mourning as a mark of respect to Sushma Swaraj.
As soon as news about Sushma Swaraj’s death broke, her followers all over the world mourned her death. Social media got flooded with tributes for the remarkable leader. Among the many moving messages, President Ram Nath Kovind said he was shocked to hear the news while Prime Minister Narendra Modi said this is the end of a glorious chapter in Indian politics.
The body of former union minister Sushma Swaraj will be kept at her home until 11 am and will then be shifted to the BJP headquarters for the leaders to pay tributes. Her last rites will be performed at the Lodhi crematorium at 3 pm.
Swaraj, who was India’s first full-time woman foreign minister, extended a helping hand to many Indians in distress abroad. She was known as one of the most accessible ministers in the first term of the Narendra Modi government.
