The National Security Guards conducted a preliminary investigation at the spot of the Pakistani terrorist attack in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. The investigation suggests that a mix of RDX and Supergel-90 may have been used in the Jaish-e-Mohammad suicide bomb attack.
Supergel-90, a blasting agent, is commonly used in quarrying.
Also, contrary to earlier reports that the suicide bomber used a Scorpio to ram the convoy, it could be either a Maruti Alto or Eeco.
The officer explained that the quantity of the RDX could have bee lower. Supergel-90 can multiply the potency of the main explosive used, thus the impact of the attack was huge.
Further investigations may tell whether the terrorist rammed his vehicle into the convoy or detonated the explosives near it.
Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed carried out this terror attack after buying explosives locally, probably to make the investigators suspect that authorities would blame the locals.
The body of Pakistani Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist – suicide bomber Adil Ahmed Dar – was subjected to post-mortem and experts have taken samples from there as well for further investigations.
Meanwhile, Adil Ahmad Dar’s father Gulam Dar said that his son had not returned home since the day he left for Jammu to appear for the Class 12 examinations. Later, Gulam Dar learnt through the Jammu and Kashmir police that his son Adil had become a suicide bomber.
