In Badminton, Sourabh Verma will take on Japan’s Minoru Koga today in the men’s singles semifinals of the Vietnam Open BWF Tour Super 100 tournament. In another semifinal, Chinese Sun Fei Xiang will take on Taiwanese Lin Yu Hsien.
In Quarterfinals, Sourabh Verma defeated Tien Minh Nguyen in straight games at Ho Chi Minh City yesterday. Sourabh is the only Indian left in the fray following the ouster of Siril Verma and Shubhankar Dey. Siril Verma defeated by China’s Lei Lan Xi in the pre-quarterfinals in a one-sided contest.
The third-seeded Shubhankar Dey had also suffered defeat at the hands of unseeded Malaysian Jia Wei Tan. India’s campaign also ended in the men’s doubles event after the pair of Arun George and Sanyam Shukla lost to top seeds Lu Ching Yao and Yang Po Han of Chinese Taipei.
