Indore: Having failed to make any ground after creating fizz over rights of upper castes people, SAPAKS (Samanya Pichhada Alpasankhyak Kalyan Samaj) has been trying to run a political marathon in the state over suicide of Vidisha resident allegedly due to threat of being booked under the SC/ST Act. After the announcement of forming a political party, SAPAKS remained out of the race due to vague situation over the status of party and recognition from the Election Commission. While other parties are busy in selection of candidates, SAPAKS Party has launched a 7-day campaign against the SC (Atrocity) Act for keeping its activists motivated and engaged for election.
“It is a shock not only for the people of upper castes but also for all as Rajendra Singh of Vidisha committed suicide fearing arrest under SC/ST Act.” “As per the Supreme Court, there is a provision of interim bail in the act but the government has amended it and made it awkward for the upper caste people,” states spokesperson of SAPAKS Party, Hemant Joshi said. He said that their party has been established with the same aim to protest against such deadly act and also to stop the extension of present caste-based reservation in 2020.
“We have launched a seven-day campaign against the Act and will submit a memorandum addressed to the President and will also organise various programmes to inform people about the ill-effects of act,” Joshi added. However, he fumbled over the political future of the party without getting recognition and symbol from the Election Commission and said, “We have submitted all necessary documents including affidavit for getting six per cent votes in the coming election.” SAPAKS Party has also announced to declare the list of all candidates on November 2.
