What is thought to be the world’s largest pillar-less dome, the World Peace Monument, was inaugurated in Pune on Tuesday.
The massive monument is adorned with over 50 statues depicting prominent world figures and was under construction for 13 years.
People flocked to the newly built dome, climbing its stairs covered in proverbs and idioms.
One of the visitors said he’d never anything like it before.
The dome is 160 feet in diameter and stands 263 feet tall, with the main prayer hall of roughly 30,000 sq feet.
